As a parent, how can I find out more about the weekend my child will be attending?
An informational meeting will be held the Saturday morning of each TEC weekend at 10:00 AM in the TEC Center. The parents of the candidates are especially encouraged to attend in order to learn just what it is that the candidates attending the weekend will be experiencing. Please do not bring any younger children who might attend a TEC weekend in the future. This meeting will supplement the "Parent's/Guardian Letter" that you should receive at your home prior to the weekend.
If you have any questions or concerns prior to this meeting, you may contact the TEC office at (309) 676-5587 or contact us via email.
As a candidate, what do I need to bring to a TEC weekend?
You will need to bring comfortable clothing, bedding, and bathroom items. We ask that you bring a nice outfit for mass on Sunday. For you ladies, we ask that you not bring short skirts as you may end up seated on the floor.
If you are musically inclined, we encourage you to bring the instrument that you play. There will be opportunities to play your instrument, and you might also be asked to assist with the music on the weekend, if you feel comfortable with that.
If you, or someone in your house enjoys cooking, please feel free to bring a couple dozen cookies! They will not go to waste!
We ask that you leave all watches, cell phones, pagers, MP3 players, cameras and tablets at home. You will find that there really isn't much time to use the aforementioned items, these tend to create a distraction to the enjoyment of the weekend and we would like to avoid the worry of having those (often expensive) items turn up missing.
If I make a TEC weekend, will I miss a day of school?
Unless the weekend you plan on attending is scheduled on a three-day weekend (with Monday being the day off), you will miss a day of school. TEC weekends run from 9:00 AM on Saturday until 3:30 PM on Monday.
We would ask that you contact the administrative office at you school to notify them of your absence.
How can I help support the TEC Program?
Prayer: The Program can not function without the prayerful support of so many.
Cookies and desserts: These will not go to waste on a TEC weekend.
Volunteers: Our volunteers are the backbone of the Community. We are always in need of help in the kitchen before, during, and after meal times.
How do I sign up for serving on a TEC team?
